Under Little Chris
As you may or may not know, Lil Chris has just finished the video for his upcoming new single, “Figure It Out”. This song is number 7 on the album, and in both my opinion and Lil Chris’ opinion, is the most rock out of the two singles.
From the 12th of January to the 17th or 18th, Chris was in sunny L.A recording the new video for Figure It Out. By the 23rd of January, Lil Chris’ debut album had already gone gold, and this is giving him great hope in reaching number 1 with his new single Figure It Out. Lil Chris speaks of the new video as “going to look amazing” and a “pure rock and roll video”. However, he could not give to much information away. Personally, I am greatly looking forward to seeing this video, and after looking at some pictures of the video, it simply looks amazing.
As for the song, I think it sounds extremely good and could be very successful. I agree it is more emo and rock than Checking It Out, however, the ch-ch-ch-checkin’ it out part of the Checking it out song is similar in this song, just replacing it with f-f-f-figure it out. Perhaps Lil Chris is going to start a trend with this similar line in his songs?
Do you agree that Figure It Out is more of a rock song? And what do you think the new video will be like?

Under Little Chris
After looking at Lil Chris’s personal blogs on his website, I realised just how much Chris likes to help charity. I personally think it’s really nice of him to help out and use his popularity/talents to help the charities out.
First of all, Lil Chris helped out the Cato Trust, who is a young charity focused around the music industry in Britain. Basically, they ask for a small donation off guests who get into concerts for free. Lil Chris kindly did a gig for Cato Trust - even if he says it’s run by a “baldy ball bag”. Lil Chris also comments, “but a very georgeous collegue that runs it for that bald bloke.” Maybe Lil Chris has a crush eh?
Also, Lil Chris gets involved with a charity called Fair Play For Children. They are a charity who in stead of asking for donations, simply ask for you to sign the petition to aware the government that more money needs to be spent on children’s hospices. I think that Lil Chris is again being kind in getting involved with this charity for children, and perhaps because of his age is the reason why, I mean, he may be picturing himself in their shoes and deciding to help. Lil Chris went off The Haven House Hospice in Essex to meet some children from the Fair Play For Children Charity suffering with life-limiting conditions. I think this is especially good for the kids, to be able to meet a star, and perhaps help boost their happiness.
Another charity that Lil Chris has helped is the Association of Children’s Hospices (ACH), which once again, is a charity which helps children with Life-limiting conditions. I think that Chris visiting the children in the Haven House Hospice touched Chris, and that perhaps this is why he has decided to help out another charity in which helps children’s hospices. Nonetheless, this is very kind and friendly of Chris and I feel that he is helping out a lot, which also helps to boost his ratings and publicity.
So, what are you opinions on Lil Chris and charities? Do you think that Chris will help more charities to do with children hospices, or do you think he will move onto other charities - or perhaps stop? Comment with your opinions!

Under Little Chris
As maybe the first teenage solo emo artist to hit the charts, perhaps this will inspire other teenage emo’s with talent to be more brave with performing their music.
With many of the teen artists who actually hit the charts being mostly pop artists, for example Jojo, Britney, and Jesse Mccartney, its unique and interesting to have a different kind of teen artist hit the charts. The good thing with Lil Chris is that he’s different to everything out there at the moment. He’s got some rock, some emo, some indie and some pop in him, but this mixture is a big hit with the country. I think this is because the mixture contains all of the main types of music that people generally like.
After talking to a friend of mine, also a Lil Chris fan, I found out that she actually thought that because a young emo artist had made it so well into the charts, some other similar types of artists would follow. Thinking about this, I agree. I mean, the closest thing we have had to Lil Chris is the charts before would be an emo band, or perhaps Ashlee Simpson. Knowing that people do actually appreciate the emo sound in music, and that they don’t mind whether the artist is a solo one or a band, I do think that it would inspire solo emo artists to gain confidence in their music, and possibly make it big into the music industry. In my opinion, I think it’s about time for some more emo to be hitting the charts, and Lil Chris is a good start.
So what do you think about more emo artists being in the charts? And do you think that we should see some teenage artists who have different music genres to just pop?
